Your daily responsibilities include:

SUMMARY

The System Administrator’s role is to manage and maintain on-premise computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This position acts as a project manager for IT to ensure successful discovery, design, documentation and rollout. This position participates in a regular off hours on-call availability rotation.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

 

Strategy & Planning

  • Participate in and support the capacity planning and development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.

 

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
  • Deploy workstations, servers, printers, scanners, encryption systems, and all host security systems.

 

Operational Management

  • Manage all operating systems and end-user software.
  • Manage communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, VOIP solutions, and Internet applications.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage input/output fleet, including printers and scanners.
  • Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, input/output fleet, and workstations. Escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles and rollouts.
  • Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
  • Create required reports in response to business user needs.
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Knowledge and experience in Office 365 administration, Azure, SharePoint, Active Directory and ExchangeAssist with all IT Help Desk tickets, including but not limited to onboarding, password resets, hardware deployment and systems troubleshooting.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Subject matter knowledge of Gaming Operations preferred but not required.
  • Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including , Active Directory, VMWare vSphere, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.Ability to communicate clearly, efficiently, and persuasively.
  • Inquisitive, self-starter who takes initiative to identify and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Ability to engage business partners and quickly develop trusting relationships.
  • Capacity for thought leadership and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to solve problems, think critically and overcome delivery hurdles

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set:

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
